ANIMALS, INITIALS, MASKING & TEXTURES

While this is definitely one of the simplest tasks anyone has ever  given me to do, it was also probably one of the most frustrating. First it was all the awful, awful time I had getting used to the initial tools of Photoshop (which is only a hundred times more difficult than Sketchbook Pro & Elements) and then it was just the perfectionism taking over to the point where I was never satisfied with how my project came out. Considering this is here now, it's safe to  say I got it to a point where it was tolerable.

Hardest thing for me to get used to was the masking tool. Never in my life have I worked with layers within layers and to be frank, messed up so many layers at one time. It was seemingly impossibly until  a friend of mine practically discovered all of the secrets with the click of a button, and I am suddenly quite a fan of the tool. It's probably a lot of fun for silhouetting images and as shown, texturing my fish. (The R is the tail, the D is the head.) And that is all! Interesting introduction project that did a really great job of introducing the software to me.

  1. Would this friend happen to be me? cause it was actually a click of a button then a facepalm for not finding it sooner...
